State Rep. Mike Harris was named on Thursday to three committees in the Michigan House of Representatives focusing on criminal, insurance, and oversight issues.
Harris, R-Waterford, will serve as minority vice chair of the Insurance and Financial Services Committee, and he will bring his professional experience as a local police officer to the table in the Criminal Justice Committee, Local Government and Municipal Finance Committee, and the Ethics and Oversight Committee.
“There is a lot of work to do for the people of Oakland County,” Harris said. “I’m looking forward to tackling important issues in committee — protecting consumers, keeping our neighborhoods safe, supporting our local communities, and making government work for the people.”
Harris represents the 52nd House District, which includes the cities of Lake Angelus and Clarkston, Independence Township, and portions of Springfield and Waterford townships.
